Another vacation has come and gone way too quickly. Shaun and Amanda left early Sunday morning and went back home to Colorado. Luckily they made it out here last Tuesday with no flight delays, especially since about 5,000 people ended up spending Tuesday night in DIA due to 9 inches of unexpected snow fall. On Wednesday, Shaun got to experience Disneyland for day after spending a week in Disneyworld in January. Needless to say it was tons of fun. Thursday was a day of relaxing on the beach and hanging out playing games like the good ole' times. While Shaun and Amanda went to dinner with her family, I got to go to one of Ross' law classes (very interesting). On Friday we spent the day down in San Diego walking around the zoo and then relaxed that night in the hot tub back at our place. On Saturday Amanda and I walked around the South Coast Plaza mall while Shaun and Ross enjoyed a few beers. After shopping we headed up to Long Beach where we rented a boat and cruised around the canals in Naples. After a very fun and relaxing boat ride we enjoyed a nice sushi dinner and then relaxed in the hot tub again but this time at the hotel where Shaun and Amanda stayed. Then before you know it they were on a plane back home early Sunday morning. Overall it was a very enjoyable and fun vacation that went way too fast.

This is going to be a short two week catch up post since I have to finish getting things ready to go pickup Shaun from the airport. That's right! He is actually coming out to visit!! So, I wanted to try and get everyone caught up on the going-ons here for the last two weeks since this week is going to be busy spending time with him. So, let's first start off with why I haven't wrote anything for quite some time.
Let's begin with Spring Break which was the 8th-12th. That Sun night Ross started to get a head cold so the beginning of the week started off with him doing nothing but resting and trying to fight this cold. I had Wed and Thurs off from work so on Wed we slept in, hung out at Disneyland for a few hours, went out to dinner and then saw Alice in Wonderland in 3D, which was very good. On Thurs we spent the day looking at bedroom furniture since we were wanting to have some matching pieces. Fri I went back to work and started to feel the start of a cold (thanks Ross). Over the weekend Ross had a huge paper he had to write and needed my help to edit out 6 pages so he could meet the required page amt. So our Sat was spent editing this 16 page paper down to 10. That night is when I really felt the cold bugs start to take over and it was official...Ross gave me his sick germs. Sun was spent lying around the house due to lack of energy.
The start of last week wasn't that good for me. I only worked half a day on Mon due to feeling awful. I went home at lunch time, took some NyQuil and slept for 3 hours. Woke up feeling better and was actually able to kick this cold in like 4 days...which I think is a record for me. On St. Patrick's Day we went up to Long Beach (a 20-30 mins drive north) to a friends house for some corned beef and cabbage and some green drinks! After dinner we played cards and had a great time laughing and spending time with friends. The rest of the week was spent getting the house and everything all set for Shaun's arrival.
So now things are caught up and I have just a few things left to do before I leave in a couple hours to get Shaun from the airport. The plans so far for this week while Shaun is out are to go bowling, go to Disneyland for a little bit, hang out at the beach, visit the San Diego Zoo, and just relax. And you can bet I will be taking tons of pictures and will post them as soon as I can so be sure to check back.

Well last week did not live up to what was expected. The actual meeting Ross had with one of his professors about an internship ended up to be a waste of time. The meeting was supposed to be about getting information for a summer internship when all the professor would talk about was how the law firm was looking for a spring intern. Ross couldn't even count how many times he had told his professor that he was looking for something for the summer. So the meeting itself was useless. However, later in the week the professor finally contacted him about getting his resume to submit for a summer position. So now we just have to sit and wait to hear back.
The excitement of the MS Charity even that took place last Thursday ended up being an even bigger disappointment. So much that I didn't even make it to the event. It started at 6:00 at the school and I had to work til 7:00 and I was going to meet Ross there. Well, I got the message from Ross to just head home about 6:45. It turns out the the school never advertised the event and had a very poor turn out. Which is a bummer since it was an event that could have been very successful if it was actually planned out and was something that both Ross and I were really looking forward to attending and supporting.
One exciting thing about last week was that Ross started spring break on Thurs so this was the first weekend since Christmas that Ross didn't have to study or do any school work so we actually got the spend the weekend together. Saturday we went out shopping looking for a new bedroom set (one that actually matches). We found one that we really liked...all but the price that is. But it was still fun looking at new stuff that you can only picture how nice it would look in your house. Some day we will actually become adults and have a matching bedroom set.
The excitement for this week is that Ross doesn't have school and I actually have Wednesday and Thursday off to spend with him. Not sure what we are going to do just yet but it's still going to be nice to have some time off together that is not the weekend. Check back next week to see what plans unfold for Spring Break.
